Khalil gave a word during the event, calling for a clear health plan prone to persist without being affected.
Fri 4/05/2012 NNA - 04/05/2012 - Public Health Minister Ali Ali Hassan Khalil opened Friday at As-Sahel Hospital the World Health Day, in presence of a number of deputies and civil community members.
The Minister said the Arab reality proved that there was no self-sufficiency policy adopted since "most Arab countries import wheat." Hajj Hassan was speaking during the consultative workshop on food security for the civil society in the Near East.
The event, held at Holiday Inn hotel, was organized by the Arab Group for the Protection of Nature (ANP) and co-organized by the Green Line Association and the World Regulatory Committee for Civil Society Mechanism.
Reiterating that food security was a political decision, Hajj Hassan said the U. was an exemplary for such a practice regarding its choice of people it offers help to.
He commented on the FAO and civil society's allegations that food security was a matter of famine, asserting that it was merely a political one. and the Congress policy and said that they do not pay for aid except in case of a political consensus.
"We ought not to change this cause from social to political, the way Palestinian Cause was changed into a refugees' one," the Minister said. "Tackling the Nile river water issue is not irrelevant to what Israel wants and aspires for," Hajj Hassan said and stressed, once again, that water security was, similarly to food security, linked to political security.
