Mahjong, the board game where you have to remove all checkers from the board in pairs while playing duels, enters a new phase.The variant Hongkong Mahjong is trickier than its “younger brother ”Mahjong: More opponents, Kongs, Pongs and Chows – and thus more complex combination possibilities – guarantee thrilling gaming fun! Your aim: to form melds of stones in order to achieve the most points possible.You win if you have more points than your opponent.
If you open a new round of Hongkong Mahjong, you specify the number of players and stake.
This Mahjong variant is played with 144 different stones.
There are three suits: Bamboos, Lotus and Characters.
Each suit has nine values from 1 to 9 (comparable to numbers on dice or 1-9 in classic card games). Bamboo: Lotus: Characters: Additionally there are 4 Winds (East Wind = E, South Wind = S, West Wind = W and North Wind = N) and 3 Dragons (Red, White and Green).
Winds: Dragons: There are also stones that symbolise flowers and the 4 seasons.
They are numbered from 1 to 4 and this corresponds to a wind direction.
Flowers: Seasons: The categorisation is as follows: East (1), South (2), West (3) and North (4).
A wind direction is assigned to each player at the beginning of the game.
The player to whom the East Wind is assigned is awarded an extra stone and begins the game.
Play rotates anti-clockwise following the order: East Wind, South Wind, West Wind and North Wind. To move a stone, click on it with the left mouse button and hold it down.
Drag the stone to the desired position and release the button.
