The Brewers are giving a presentation to the Branch at the Chequers, Wareside, after the Branch Meeting on Monday 14 March.A new brewery is now in production at the Woodbine Inn, Waltham Abbey.
A ACV does not mean a pub cannot be closed, but does demonstrate that the local pub is a valuable part of the local community.
The long closed Cock Pub at the Hockerill Lights in Stortford has re-opened, under the control of Adam Curtis, the former landlord of the Wheatsheaf.
This pub was the first pub in the branch area to gain Asset of Community Value (AVC) status.
Historic pub, with long history, and so far, under the management of Adrian it seems to be doing well. Following the departure of Adrian Curtis the Wheatsheaf was closed for a few weeks, but has now been re-opened under the Management of Michelle Brace.
This pub was a former Greene King pub, but was recenetly sold to Hawthorne Lesiure.
Hoping all goes well for Michelle, and in a few weeks the pub will start selling food for the first time in a few years sfter the completion of the updating of the kitchen. Started brewing late in 2015, but is now available in more pubs. Two beers, 18ct Gold (Light Golden Ale) and First Brewed (A Traditional Bitter). This brewery is based in Little Hadham, and brews using only their own spring well water, and English Hops & Malt. The New River Brewery of Hoddesdon have been nominated for Best New Brewer award at the Hertfordshiore Food & Drink Awards. If you agree with this please do vote for them by clicking the picture below Three pubs have told us about beer festivals they are holding in the comming months. All three have a history of running successful beer festivals.
