Girl Meets World is a sequel to the sitcom Boy Meets World, which aired on ABC's TGIF block from 1993 to 2000.
The new series will follow Riley Matthews (portrayed by Rowan Blanchard), the teenage daughter of Boy Meets World main characters Cory and Topanga Matthews, as Riley navigates the challenges of life.
Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel, who played Cory and Topanga respectively in the original series, will reprise their roles in this series, as will other members of the original cast.
If you can get past the almost-unbearable corniness of the Pilot episode, you'll see in later episodes that Rowan Blanchard has a lot of Cory Matthews-style humor and quirks that Boy Meets World fans will appreciate and enjoy!
Starting seventh grade can be a challenge, but for Riley Matthews there's an added complication; her history teacher is also her dad!
But with her best friend Maya at her side, along with friends Lucas and Farkle, they're ready to take on the world.
New episode each Friday: A gripping family drama and entrepreneurial fable, set in a post-war Paris fashion house.
In her bedroom, Riley Matthews (Rowan Blanchard) and her best friend Maya Hart (Sabrina Carpenter) try to sneak out her window to ride the subway but are stopped by Riley's parents: Cory (Ben Savage) and Topanga Matthews (Danielle Fishel) who tell them that the world is now theirs and gives them the permission to ride the subway.
On the subway, they meet a handsome boy named Lucas Friar (Peyton Meyer), whom Riley immediately develops a crush on.
In history class, Cory (who happens to be their history teacher) assigns the class to write an essay on something they would fight for.
Maya and Riley decide to fight for "no homework", which leads to accidentally setting off a smoke alarm.
It exposes the grit behind the glamour of a rising business, spearheaded by two clashing brothers.
