Individual tutorial support and distance learning is built into the programme.
The mentoring will be done through e-mail contact, tutorials or on a drop-in basis as long as a log of contact is kept.
A mandatory assignment is required by the awarding organisations to complete this qualification and we break the large assignment down in a series of 4 theoretical and 1 practical piece of assignment work which reflects the units taken.
The assignment work is provided in the CTLLS courseware folder and is designed to test the participants’ knowledge and understanding of the whole qualification.
CTLLS training programmes are highly participative with a blend of presentation, group exercises and debate.
A comprehensive courseware folder is provided including hand-outs, checklists, sample documents and reference lists for internet pages that offer further reading and research.
This intensive 6 month programme comprises face-to-face training days, workplace assessment, individual research, use of our bespoke virtual learning environment (VLE) and the completion of 3 assignments.
You will attend 6 training days; one a month, for 6 months.
These are highly interactive, face-to-face sessions. They are built around key themes that address the course content, prompt reflective practice and provide an opportunity to share good practice with others.
The Certificate in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector is intended primarily for those who are about to enter or have recently entered a work role that can best be described as the Associate teacher/trainer role.• A CTLLS participant is required by the awarding bodies to undergo 3 hours of Observed Teaching Assessment; our CTLLS training course incorporates an Observed Teacher/Training Assessment Day, where we can train your organisation's occupational specialists in Observation and Mentoring Techniques.• This allows your organisation’s CTLLS participants to undergo the 3 hours of mandatory Observed Teaching Assessment by your organisation’s occupational specialists who have attended the Observation of Teacher/Training Assessment Day.
The Mentoring process will be overseen and feedback to CTLLS participants from the occupational specialists will be checked by our experienced CTLLS trainers.• However, if you do not have within your organisation, suitable occupational specialists, AMBA Training tutors will be able to provide the Observed Teacher/Training Assessment for an additional cost.
An associate teacher is someone whose role and responsibilities demand a less extensive range of knowledge, understanding and application of curriculum development, than the ‘full’ role.
